Proximity Sensor with Mounting BracketThe Proximity sensor creates a magnetic field around the tip of the sensor.  When a metal object such as the top of a hanger passes by the tip of the sensor the magnetic field is disrupted and the sensor counts the piece.  This type of sensor is used when only one presser's finished pieces will pass by the sensor.  This is most often seen when there is a drop line out of the presser's station to a central screw or slick rail.

The photoelectic sensor consists of a photoelectic beam and receiver.  When an object such as a hanger passes between the beam and receiver the sensor sees the break in the beam and counts the piece.  This type of sensor is usually mounted in front of a central line that multiple pressers hang their finished garments onto.  Presser's place their finished garments between the beam and receiver to have their peice counted while other pressers garments pass behind the sensor and are not counted.

The PieceCounter can be used at any dry cleaning or laundry press.  This particular installation uses a photoelectric sensor where the operator passes the hanger through the sensor on the way to the hanging the garment on the central slick rail.

We recommend that the PieceCounter be placed where it is easily visible by the presser at some point in the finishing process.  This could be when when they retrieve a garment to finish, when they are pressing or when they finish a garment and pass it by the sensor.  We also recommend, if possible, making the feedback screens easily visible for management as they pass by the pressing stations.

Tunnel Finisher

The PieceCounter can be fitted to any tunnel finisher, regardless of the number of loading stations.  See a testimonial on how the PieceCounter reduced loading time by 45 minutes a day on this tunnel finisher.
